iNose: Urban species identification
This short activity supports increased knowledge of urban species and can be a great tool to remind a class of features they could be looking for before getting outdoors to identify wildlife. Using the species facts provided, or asking learners to add in their own species knowledge, guide your group in working out which common urban species are being described as fast as possible. This activity can be adapted for different key stages by modifying the facts provided or replacing them to focus on a particular group (e.g. plants or birds) to align with a curriculum focus.
